Holly D. Bishop graduated from Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University Of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee and has been in private practice since 1997 concentrating primarily in the area of family law. Her practice is now focused more specifically on the area of Adoption Law. Retainers depend on specific facts and circumstances, but a general guide is as follows:
Uncontested Adoption - the biological and/or legal parents' parental rights have already been terminated or there will be consent to termination prior to filing papers. |
$1,200 Non-refundable Attorney Fee Court fees, travel time in excess of 2 hours, and other expenses are additional and depend on the County case is filed. |
Potentially Contested Adoption & Termination of Parental Rights Cases - one or more of the biological and/or legal parents has not been located and extraordinary efforts will have to be made to effectively terminate those parental rights. |
$2,500 initial retainer placed in our Trust Account to be billed against for attorney fees and expenses and a requirement that a minimum of $1,000 be maintained in Trust until entry of the final Order. Unused retainer is refunded. |
Contested Adoptions & Termination of Parental Rights Cases - one or more of the biological and/or legal parents are contesting the termination of their parental rights. |
$5,000 initial retainer placed in our Trust Account to be billed against for attorney fees and expenses and a requirement that a minimum of $2,500 be maintained in Trust until entry of the final Order. Unused retainer is refunded. |
